Awake NY is heading back to Jordan Brand, and this time the silhouette moves on from the Air Jordan 5 to the Air Jordan 6. The New York streetwear label founded by Angelo Baques has unveiled the second half of its two-pair AJ6 capsule, a colourway officially dubbed Playful Pink, and it is every bit as bold as the name suggests.
Four distinct shades of pink cover the upper. A light pink nubuck forms the base across the forefoot, while even paler overlays sit on top. The heel and collar panel arrives in a highlighter-grade pink that demands attention, and a mid-toned shade fills the TPU window at the midfoot, stamped with Awakes slanted A logo. The effect is layered and considered, not just pink for the sake of it.
Below, the midsole borrows its black and red arrangement directly from the Air Jordan 6 Infrared, the same sneaker Michael Jordan wore while claiming his first NBA title. Speckling on the red segments adds texture, while red continues through the heel Nike Air branding, the spoiler-like heel pull, and various accents throughout.
The first look came via influencer and designer Imran Potato, with seeded pairs expected to surface across other notable sneakerhead accounts ahead of release. It mirrors how the Midnight Navy colourway, revealed back in February, was seeded into the wild before official imagery dropped.
This pink treatment connects back to Awakes earlier Jordan work. The Air Jordan 5 duo from 2025, particularly the Arctic Pink pair, built real momentum for the brand within the Jumpman universe. Moving that energy onto the AJ6, a silhouette with its own deep championship history, feels like a deliberate step up.
The Playful Pink pair sits alongside the Midnight Navy colourway as part of a Fall 2026 release calendar. The navy version layers deep blues with Infrared and Game Royal accents, offering a more subdued alternative for those who want the Awake treatment without the wattage. Both are tagged at $230 USD.
The Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 Playful Pink (IQ5706-600) is expected to release in September 2026 through Awakes own channels, the Snkrs app, and select third-party retailers.
