Bentley has pulled the covers off the latest Flying Spur, and the most talked-about change is one of the smallest details on the car. For the first time on a Bentley sedan since 1962, the traditional twin headlamps have been replaced by single units, bringing the four-door's design language into step with the fourth-generation Continental GT family.
The grille is now integrated within the front bumper, the wing vents have been removed for cleaner flanks, and the rear boot lid has been reshaped with flowing surfaces, new tail lamps and a body-coloured number plate surround. A fresh paint option, Dark Teal, joins the palette: a mid-blue metallic with green undertones and fine metallic flakes designed to emphasise surface curvature.
But the real story is the return of the S model. The new Flying Spur S is the most powerful version to carry the badge, its High-Performance Hybrid V8 powertrain delivering 680 PS and 930 Nm of torque. That is nearly 20 per cent more than the previous S generation, enough for 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 191 mph.
Bentley has backed up that firepower with its most advanced all-wheel-drive chassis setup to date. The Performance Active Chassis, previously reserved for Speed and Mulliner models, brings active all-wheel drive, twin-valve dampers, torque vectoring and the 48-volt Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll system. An electronic limited-slip differential makes its first appearance on a Flying Spur S, working with updated ESC software to deploy hybrid torque effectively on corner exit.
The S variant signals its intent visually. The Blackline Specification adds gloss-black matrix grilles, black Bentley wings and badging, Beluga mirror caps and dark-tint LED matrix headlamps. At the rear, dark-tint tail lamps and sports exhaust tailpipe finishers complete the look.
Inside, five seat styles are now available, each requiring 12 hours of handcraftsmanship. The Virtuoso Collection introduces the Naim for Mulliner audio system, originally developed for the coachbuilt Batur, with 21 speakers derived from Focal's Grand Utopia hardware and three curated interior themes: Soprano, Tenor and Bass, each accented with Champagne Gold detailing that extends to the winged badges, exhaust finishers and even the key.
Production begins at Crewe in September, with first customer deliveries expected in the final quarter of 2026.
