Four Seasons has arrived in the Cyclades. The brand's second Greek property opened in late June on the southwest coast of Mykonos, perched above Kalo Livadi Bay in a composition of whitewashed volumes and natural stone that reads as a natural extension of the island's celebrated architecture. Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis designed the 94-room resort around two private beaches and two infinity pools that appear to spill directly into the Aegean.
More than 30 of the rooms and suites come with their own plunge pools, and every category faces the sea. The Executive Suite opens onto a terrace with a private pool and elevated Aegean views, while the One-Bedroom Sea-View Suite takes the classic Mykonos house as its blueprint, spread across two levels with a living room that flows out to a sea-view terrace. The overall effect is restrained luxury, where Cycladic simplicity gets a quiet upgrade rather than a radical overhaul.
Dining takes in a Greek-Mediterranean programme that shifts from beachside informality to more structured evening service. A boat jetty at the base of the property runs yacht trips to Delos Island, the mythological birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, less than two miles offshore. Guided excursions to Rhenia Island, uninhabited and ringed with sandy coves, come with a Four Seasons picnic setup. The property sits 20 minutes from Mykonos Airport and Chora, close enough to the island's pulse but secluded from it.
Sustainability has been factored in from the start. The entire operation runs on desalinated seawater and solar power, and the landscape planting prioritises native species over imported ornamentals. It is a detail that matters more than it sounds, particularly on an island where water scarcity is a growing concern and where the luxury hospitality sector has not always been attentive to local ecological limits.
The property also includes a hillside church for weddings and a programme of experiences that extends beyond the usual spa treatments: windsurfing and kitesurfing at nearby Corfos Beach, curated visits to Chora's boutiques and the landmark windmills, and private cruises with a local mythology specialist.
