Four Seasons has opened its second property in Greece, and this one sits above one of Mykonos' most coveted bays. Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos, perched on the cliffs overlooking Kalo Livadi, welcomed its first guests on 21 July, bringing 94 rooms, suites and villas to an island that has been waiting for this level of polished hospitality.
Designed by acclaimed Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis, the hotel unfolds across six hectares in the style of a traditional Mykonian village. Whitewashed walls, blue-shuttered doors and minimal stone terraces reference the island's vernacular without drifting into pastiche. The effect is restrained and confident, a backdrop that lets the Aegean do the heavy lifting.
Accommodations range from entry-level rooms to villas with private plunge pools, each incorporating local materials and that signature Cycladic restraint. Two infinity pools cascade down the hillside, and a private beach gives guests direct access to the water without the sunbed scrabble that defines most of the island's shoreline.
Dining runs across four venues. Mediterranean grill ALEf focuses on premium meats and fresh seafood with a Greek and Old World wine list. Corbu brings Italian cooking to the Aegean as an all-day option. The Beach is a cocktail-forward, toes-in-the-sand operation for late afternoons. And Kafeneo, named after the traditional Greek coffee house, handles everything from morning espresso to sunset ouzo.
The spa is set within fragrant gardens and features seven treatment rooms, an outdoor pavilion and a full thermal circuit including sauna, steam room and vitality pool. A 24-hour fitness centre adds an outdoor spinning studio and a sea-view yoga pavilion. The wellness programming extends to personal trainers and custom routines if guests want more than a holiday jog.
Four Seasons Experiences include helicopter sightseeing over the island, horseback riding to the secluded volcanic beach at Fokos, and a day trip to the UNESCO-listed ruins at Delos followed by snorkelling off Rhenia. For those who prefer to keep both feet on the ground, a guided walk through Mykonos Town's whitewashed lanes covers the Lighthouse, Kalafatis Beach and the village of Ano Mera.
For events, the hotel can host up to 200 guests across its outdoor restaurant spaces, with a secluded hillside chapel available for weddings overlooking the bay. And for anyone thinking beyond a single island, Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is 20 minutes by helicopter, with seamless transfers organised by the concierge. A third Greek property in Porto Heli has also been announced.
