Palace Skateboards has never been one for half measures. Their latest move brings the Three Lions straight into the heart of street culture, as the London imprint partners with Nike and the England FA for the X2 Collection, a World Cup capsule that refuses to draw a line between terrace and high street.

The pre-match shirt is the centrepiece. Greyscale stained glass graphics of St George wrap the entire shirt, overlaid with the Palace Tri-Ferg logo, a Nike Swoosh and the Three Lions crest. It is loud, unmistakably English and unmistakably Palace. Marcus Rashford wore it ahead of England's friendly against Uruguay on 27 March, giving the shirt its first public outing on the biggest stage.

Then there is the varsity jacket, unveiled through Nike Football's Polaroid campaign featuring Wayne Rooney and Jill Scott. It is a piece that belongs as much on the terraces as it does on Oxford Street, a statement that international football and subculture share the same conversation.

The full range goes well beyond the shirt and jacket. Matching pre-match shorts carry the same stained glass motif. An anthem jacket and a reflective solo Swoosh tracksuit bring real weight to the off-pitch offering. Drill tops and layered training pieces round things out, each carrying the same blend of national pride and street-level irreverence.

The standout footwear piece is the Nike Cryoshot in black leather with Infrared detailing. A football silhouette built for the pavement, not the pitch, it distils the clash of worlds that makes this collaboration compelling in the first place.

The campaign front line is serious: Rashford, Harry Kane, Kobbie Mainoo and Bukayo Saka all feature, each one representing a different thread of what English football looks like right now. Beyond the product, the X2 programme highlights a partnership with Football Beyond Borders, using football as a vehicle for social inclusion. It is a reminder that the best collaborations do more than move units.

The X2 programme connects federation football with community collaborators, and Palace are the sharpest name on that list. The collection drops 12 June via Palace channels, online and in-store, before hitting Nike SNKRS and select retailers on 16 June.
