The Table
Athens has become a serious dining city. ERGON House sits at the foot of the Acropolis with a 30-seat chef's table, a deli counter running the length of the ground floor, and a wine cellar stocked from Greek producers who are finally getting the recognition they deserve. The capital's food scene has moved well beyond moussaka and souvlaki. On the islands, the standard is set by hotels that take dining as seriously as the view. Amoh Rhodes opened in April 2026 with three restaurants, including a beachfront concept that cooks over open fire. In Mykonos, Panoptis Escape runs a kitchen that sources from local farms across the island, serving Aegean seafood on a terrace above the sea.

The Stay
The Aegean coast is in the middle of a hotel boom. Amoh Rhodes brought 151 rooms to a clifftop above the Aegean in April 2026, with a spa carved into the rock and a private beach club. Panoptis Escape in Mykonos offers nine cycladic suites above Super Paradise Bay, run by a family who built it from nothing. In Cyprus, the Four Seasons Limassol has been the benchmark for three decades. Family-run, consistently rated among the top resorts in the Mediterranean, with a beachfront that runs half a kilometre along the coast. It holds its own against anything the Greek islands have built.
