The dining
Vietnam has crossed a threshold. In June 2026, the MICHELIN Guide unveiled its fourth edition here. Eleven One-Star restaurants now span Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
The inspectors noted something beyond the numbers. A generation of chefs trained abroad, returning to rework regional traditions with a precision unthinkable even five years ago.
We have begun documenting that movement in Saigon, starting with Upstairs Tasting Room — a Michelin-starred tasting menu rooted in Central Vietnamese tradition. More will follow.

The stay
The stay side is moving at the same velocity. Along the central coast, a wave of hotel openings is reshaping how travellers experience Vietnam. Serious properties targeting a traveller who expects the same standards in Hoi An as in Phuket.
What connects them is a shared conviction: that Vietnam's hospitality story is still being written. That is what this section is for.
